ASHS.NUTN(The Affiliated Senior High School of National University of Tainan) Course of Construction, participated in the 2021 National High School Earthquake Resistance Competition held in NKUST, standing out from more than a hundred of teams, winning the first place in the Wooden Bridge High Bearing Capacity group, third place in Construction Design group, first place in Microfilm group, and third place along with four Honorable Mention in Earthquake Resistance group, eight awards combined.
The Competition of Earthquake Resistance is a grand annual event in the field of High School Civil Engineering and Construction, among groups, Construction Earthquake Resistance group attracted 28 schools and 120 teams to the competition this year, with a low awarded rate which only awarding the first, second, third place and ten Honorable Mention, ASHS.NUTN Course of Construction finished in third place as well as four Honorable Mention. Students who won the third place, Tai Wei-cheng, Huang Tzu-jung, Pai Fan-chun, Wei Chia-I, Wu Ting-hung, and Chang Yun-chieh got 5,000 NTD bonus with the efficiency rate of more than 66,000 points; Students, Lin Chih-han, Tsai Chen-hua, Yen Pin-hao, Huang Mu-chen, Wang Chien-hao, and Yang Chin were chosen to Honorable Mention with more than 58,000 points.
Construction earthquake resistance work made by six students, Cheng Po-chien, Wu Kuan-I, Chen Yun-ping, Huang Pei-han, Ko Yu-hsuan, and Lin Chiung-jung, was found 200-gram overweight in compare of the competition regulation the night before the competition, the team overcomes difficulties and worked overnight, and made a new construction in the last second before the final check in, defeating more than a hundred of teams, winning Honorable Mention with more than 56,000 points.
Team Kasukabe Earthquake Resistance, with member Chu Hsin-cheng, Huang Chun-wei, Yang Po-wei, Huang Hung-hsiang, Wang Chiu-pin, and Lu Chia-chin. With Yang Po-weis mixed-race features, using the imitation of a foreign student YouTuber experiencing high school campus life and accidentally encountered earthquake drill as an idea, further participated in the research of Earthquake Resistance Construction modeling. Cameo guided by senior students Chen En-cheng and Huang Chun-wei, edited and produced by Lu Chia-chin, and with student Liu Pei-chuan’s assist in filming, combining with humor and hilarious sponsorship content, finally stood out from other schools and teams, winning the first place in Filming Leading Vision group, along with 3,000 NTD bonus.
This year, for the latest added group, The Strength and the Beauty of the Bridge, only one team from each school was allowed to sign up. ASHS.NUTN students, Wan Ssu-han, Yin Hsin-tsung, Tsai Wei-ling, Lin Yu Ching, and Liu Pei Chuan, often stayed after school to practice modeling during three -month competition preparation, having been through more than ten finished product tests, eventually won the first place in High Bearing Capacity, with the maximum loading force, wooden bridge less than 300 gram bearing up to more than 300 pounds in the competition field, at the same time also finished in third place in Construction Design group, with its delicate modeling and unique design, winning 8,000 NTD bonus in total.
