The National University of Tainan celebrated the 123rd anniversary since its founding on December 11th and 12th. The opening ceremony games began on the 11th at 9am on the sports field, and the anniversary feast for teachers and students was led by the school president Huang Hsiu-Shuang. At two-thirty in the afternoon the celebration ceremony for outstanding alumni was held at the Venus Garden Lecture Hall where commendations were made for special contributions as well as the 34th assembly of distinguished alumni, and special thanks were given for all donations and scholarship supporters. The meeting was lively and warm.
All the departments at NUTN were full of enthusiasm and they dressed up in creatively designed costumes for the ceremony so that the university celebration would be full of joy. President Huang Hsiu-Shuang expressed his thankfulness to his predecessors, faculty, staff, alumni, and community for their support. NUTN has remained steadfast to its educational mission. With more than 50,000 alumni in various fields contributing their expertise all around the world, the teachers and students have made breakthroughs in creativity and diverse exhibitions. For the brilliant education achievements, the school obtained a subsidy of 196.58 million NTD from the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Program, as well as a 7.37 billion NTD subsidy for the new FuCheng campus research center and an activity center. The school hopes to inherit its centennial glory and create a new history with a new learning environment and abundant resources.
On the 12th of December, NUTN continued its celebrations and activities. In the afternoon the Department of Continuing Education held a relay race which was both tense and exciting. Every year the university attracts students and friends nearby to watch and cheer on the young students and add to the lively, joyful atmosphere.
