The National University of Taiwan and the United Microelectronics Corporation Technology, Culture, and Education Fund are involved in long-term cooperation through “Sowing Seeds of Hope - An Education Assistance Plan for Children of Disadvantaged Families” wherein NUTN will provide teachers, volunteers, and venues to serve local neighbourhood family student studies. In compliance with the teachers diversity and adaptability plan, on September 14th and 16th NUTN organized a “Professional Education Volunteer Service” online preparation meeting for an intercollegiate strategic alliance of volunteers from Cheng Kung University, Kaohsiung Normal University, and Tainan University of Science and Technology. Around two-hundred education volunteers participated to implement the spirit of professional education and public service.

This semester around two-hundred on and off-campus volunteers were recruited to participate in 13 projects to foster and practice professional education tasks. The principle focus is on-campus neighborhood family after-school programs, off-campus public service, and long-distance volunteering. Details and content were explained one-by-one according to the task category through the online explanation meeting. Progress meetings and online discussions will be held regularly, and at the end of the semester, progress results will be shared and exchanged. Volunteers will improve their teaching skills, young students can have fun learning, and the university (USR) and industry (CSR) will be engaged in social responsibility.
NUTN President Huang Hsiu-Shuang expressed his appreciation for the United Microelectronics Corporation Technology, Culture, and Education Fund’s long-term support, and he was happy to see professional development and diverse intercollegiate cooperation as well as between all levels of education. The host and director of the Teachers Education Training Center, Yin-Liang Huang, said that NUTN’s high-quality teachers training course can give teachers more awareness and experience, and also achieve a win-win outcome for professional education community co-learning goals.
