National University of Tainan host the annual conference of international symposium with Taiwan Association for Schools of Public Administration and Affairs (TASPAA)
Department of Public Policy and Management, NUTN hosted the TASPAA Annual Conference on “2020 Vision for the New Generation: Inheritance and Innovation for Public Governance under Globalization” at evergreen plaza hotel from October 23th to October 24th. Mayor of Tainan Huang, Wei-Che graced the occasion with the presence as opening guest. Scholars specialize in management science of TASPAA participate the conference all together hospitably.
The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by the principal of National University of Tainan HUANG, ZONG-XIAN, Mayor of Tainan Huang, Wei-Che, the dean of the Department of Public Policy and Management, NUTN and the president of TASPAA. The union of TASPAA awarded mayor of Tainan Huang, Wei-Che “public service award” to thank the mayor for constantly giving recognition and dedication to public service. Mayor of Tainan Huang, Wei-Che expressed thankfulness and expect to promote the city development of Tainan through corporation between sectors in company.
In this annual conference, the president of Administration Science, IIAS and professor of the university of leuven Belgium Geert Bouckaert was invited to give a speech about carrying out the trend of public service and meaning. “2020 Vision for the New Generation: Trends and Implications for Civil Services” was co-hosted by the vice president of ZHAO QING HUI and the dean of Department of Public Policy and Management Ma, Chun-Chieh, together they conduct the forum of “Legacy and innovation of public governance science in new generation” and “Review and foresight of public governance issue in new situation”. And publish 150 essays under 10 public administrations with the hope of brainstorming the public thinking and opinion of the discussion combined with diverse innovation and intension of southern Taiwan through the corporation between the municipal government and the academic community with regard to current governance in Taiwan and the vison of the local development in southern Taiwan.
The dean of Department of Public Policy and Management Ma, Chun-Chieh indicated that the content of the governance is getting more and more intricate as facing the challenge of modern concept and the impact of global epidemic. From the experience of developed countries, the corporation of local sectors is beneficial to the respond of local developing problem. Therefore, this year “2020 Vision for the New Generation” themed conference is aimed to let academic circles, practical circles, industrial circles, government, citizen and media reach more liberal communication through the corporation of sectors. Additionally, coping with new problem of the governance together after 2020, combining international trend and local development and constructing the vision of city development which is more farsighted and feasible compares to reality.
